SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the daily activities of manufacturing operations which includes: Safety, Sheet Metal, Rolling Steel Door Production and Maintenance Departments. Organization reach includes Manufacturing Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Lean methodology and practices implementation and Quality systems that affect manufacturing operations. This position directly supervises all the manufacturing operations of the business for all shifts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Directly oversees Production Managers to manage the daily activities of all manufacturing production workers including: safety, sheet metal, rolling steel door assembly, and maintenance departments.
- Develops and owns the Manufacturing expense budget and related expenditures.
- Defines staffing needs and works with HR to maintain those levels.
- Upholds and guides production with respect to safety, quality, delivery and cost (SQDC), in this order.
- Directs maintenance teammates to ensure operating equipment uptime meets production schedules.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering Manager and Quality Team to achieve product and process improvements, capital appropriation requests, machinery selection and installation.
- Owns the Safety, 5S/Lean Programs, ensures adherence to Company policies, and maintains the BMS processes for manufacturing operations.
- Maintains good employee relations and adherence to company policies and procedures, developing those as necessary and takes proper disciplinary measures when required.
- Assures efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the department.
- Establishes and publishes production metrics to ensure we meet our productivity objectives and find new ways to improve production efficiencies.

Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Bachelors Degree required, Engineering or other related field
- 7+ years of progressive manufacturing experience, metals manufacturing experience a plus
- Plant Manager experience strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of production planning, LEAN manufacturing, and safety required
- Solid knowledge and experience with quality and inspection processes
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
