The Plant Manager has responsibility for driving continuous and significant improvements in safety, quality, delivery and cost. Job Responsibilities

· Drive rapid, significant and sustainable improvement in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost

· Provide the leadership necessary for the development and execution of a strategy that supports the company’s overall strategy in a continuous process manufacturing environment

· Lead regular key performance indicator (KPI) reviews for the plant team to ensure attainment of results and a sense of urgency with respect to implementation priorities

· Ensure key manufacturing metrics and KPI systems are consistently tracking the appropriate measures and provoking appropriate responsive behavior

· Passionately drives a lean operating system mentality and culture in a highly structured and prescriptive way leading the development and implementation of the roadmap to achieve breakthrough operating performance (5S, SMED, TPM, 5W1H, etc.)

· Build, coach and mentor an outstanding team

· Continually evolve manufacturing efficiency and assess opportunities to reduce cost, by driving financial performance in the areas of direct and indirect labor, and manufacturing overhead cost, as well as inventory levels

· Ensure effective allocation of resources across all areas of the plant to accomplish customer‐driven priorities.

· Coordinate effectively with sales, marketing, design engineering, and other functional organizations

· Partner with the broader management team to ensure the best possible product, and customer satisfaction

· Continually benchmark best practices and drive effective implementation

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related field, is required. MBA is preferred with 10 years of Manufacturing experience and at least 5 years of Managerial experience.

· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to effectively communicate throughout all levels of the organization

· Possesses a high sense of urgency

· Resourcefulness, combining strong manufacturing and technical abilities with good overall management acumen

· Effectively deploys resources to key priorities

· High expectations for him/herself and the organization; driven by metrics and countermeasures

· Lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience is a plus

· Team Player- respect and work with team members, respect their thoughts and knowledge of each instance. Be good natured and have a cooperative attitude.

· Initiative/persistent- have willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges. Be persistent when faced with obstacles

· Critical Thinking- using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

· Computers/Systems- strong knowledge and use of ERP systems and the ability to process information, drive planning, efficiencies, and decision making.

· Mechanical- understand how something works and have the ability to add to design for better function or adapt a new design.

· Promote a “Zero Injury” culture

· Ensure safe working conditions and safe work behavior

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  • MBA
  • 10 years of manufacturing experience
  • At least 5 years of managerial experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge and use of ERP systems
  • Lean manufacturing experience (5S, SMED, TPM) and/or Six Sigma
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to understand/design mechanical function
  • Proven ability to drive safety culture (Zero Injury) and ensure safe working conditions
  • Strong problem solving, decision making, time management, and critical thinking skills
