The Role:
As the Plant Manager - Baytown Operations, reporting to the VP of Manufacturing, you will be the leader responsible for safe and compliant execution of the production plan as per S&OP process and within budget guidelines. You will continuously seeks ways to enhance lean manufacturing (balanced plant, technology), to reduce costs, and to improve process efficiencies. Additionally, you will have responsibility to maintain the site assets and to execute capital projects. You will own the Manufacturing and Engineering & Maintenance processes.
How You Will Make an Impact:
Operations
- Lead site activities in the areas of EHS, quality, delivery, production, maintenance, engineering, capital, and cost management.
- Responsible for leading the daily compliant and safe operations of the manufacturing facility.
- Leads team in the pursuit of excellence in EHS performance and delivering quality product to the customer on time; all in the most cost-effective manner.
Manufacturing Excellence
- Ensure site is compliant with all regulatory, corporate, and site EHS requirements
- Hold team accountable for adhering to all applicable EHS regulations, standards, and procedures
- Maintain site requirement to comply with RC14001 and ISO9001 standards
- Manage team to meet commitments of monthly, quarterly, and annual Sales, Inventory, and Operating Plan (SIOP)
- Continuously seeks ways to improve process efficiencies in plant yields, OEE, energy consumption, and process control
- Ensure equipment availability and reliability by leading and improving maintenance excellence processes
- Manage manufacturing site operation within approved financial guidelines
- Lead Lean Manufacturing systems through the implementation of a site management operating system including AI
- Support capital engineering in the design of new products/plants/processes and modifications to existing assets
- Support execution of approved capital projects on time and on budget
- Develop, adapt, and validate a vision for the site’s enhanced value generation within the corporate strategies
- Participate in safety audits/inspections, event investigations, PHA/HAZOP studies, project management teams, project briefings, etc.
- Adapts with the organization to meet demand, economical and EHS requirements, changes, or challenges
- Stay current in the usage of job-related tools such as manufacturing leadership
- Learn and maintain up to date knowledge of SI Group process technologies
- Develop, adapt and validate a vision for the site’s enhanced value generation within the corporate strategies and the regional strategy execution
Creating Extraordinary Starts With:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other applicable degree
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in a chemical manufacturing facility
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience and managing direct reports
- Change management experience

Skills Required
