ABOUT THE ROLE

The Plant Engineer manages daily engineering operations within the production plant. Assist production managers and other personnel with standardization, as well as micro and macro production efficiencies and improvements as needed. Research, test, and evaluate existing practices, and implement new ways to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness while maintaining safe practices and high quality. Work on developing methods to inform and educate the production department and associated departments to advance lean manufacturing.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Reviews ticket details for lifters, strands, stress envelopes, blocking, connectors, and unique items to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinates with mechanical, electrical, civil, and other disciplines for aligned engineering requirements.
  • Investigate load capacities of embedded hardware and special formwork, ensuring proper anchorage and design.
  • Integrates engineering standards into production practices to meet project specifications.
  • Communicates daily with production, quality control, and erection teams to resolve issues and clarify requirements.
  • Conducts research and development for process improvements, efficiency, standardization, and cost savings.
  • Develops and tests panel-handling hardware, updates production based on results, and oversees plant quality certification processes.
  • Reviews and approves materials, mix designs, and test reports; resolves non-conformance reports (NCRs) with cross-functional teams.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for someone who can make informed decisions to improve production processes, is skilled with computers and software, excels at problem-solving, identifies opportunities for efficiency and lean operations, resolves production inefficiencies, and works effectively with other departments to complete projects efficiently.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Overall knowledge in engineering, production, and construction processes of building structures.
  • Knowledge of concrete structures.
  • Understanding building codes, standards, and specifications relevant to the design criteria.
  • Overall understanding of design, production, and building erection processes.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Occasional visits to active plant and field locations are required based on operational needs.
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required while in the plant and field.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and navigate active plant and field environments as needed.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, walk on uneven surfaces, and safely move through industrial work areas.
  • May be exposed to moving equipment, machinery, and other standard industrial hazards.
  • May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, as well as noise, dust, and vibration.

Skills Required
