This position provides organization, planning, direction and control of maintenance, technical changes/improvements and technical & regulation compliance documentation for a production plant. The position
provides the technical expertise to maintain and continuously improve the technical availability of the plant as well as work to reduce maintenance costs through statistical review and root cause analysis. Additional duties include project management and process troubleshooting/process improvement assignments to support the cost and plant availability objectives.
Employee is responsible for adhering and practicing the GMP and Food safety procedures and controls implemented within the boundaries of their job function at the Chester site.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform failure and root cause analysis and make technical recommendations for repairs and replacements considering economics and plant availability risks. Provide daily technical support for equipment and process problems. Initiate, plan and implement long term corrective actions to improve the process and plant reliability.
Provide plant specific technical expertise on the application of new process developments, on equipment innovations and on state-of-the-art maintenance and project techniques, insuring regulatory compliance of technical documentation and maintenance practices
Maintain the mechanical integrity program for all I&E related devices and equipment. Organize and maintain critical documentation library on plant equipment and processes for operation, maintenance, and legal requirements. Maintain records on Safety devices, including PSV book with inspection, testing, & calculation methods. Maintain Management of Change document records.
Support company programs for maintaining ISO and GMP
Ensure compliance with corporate and OSHA requirement for contractors performing activities in the plant. Maintain Contractor Safety Program.
Plan and participate in the budgeting process for maintenance and capital projects. Manage small projects < $2- 3M. Prepare detailed cost estimates and actively control project costs. Prepare and maintain project schedules. Ensure the technical performance of projects.
REQUIREMENTS
B.S in Engineering or related technical background strongly preferred
5+ years Chemical Plant/ Manufacturing experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of ISO Standards
The ability to understand complex technical processes.
Excellent communication, organization, management and leadership skills
Effective problem solving skills, implement solution to complex unanticipated issues impacting production.
Knowledge of various equipment and maintenance practices
Function effectively in a multi-task environment, analyze situations and respond promptly.
