Job Summary
The Plant Engineer at CROWN Middle East Can Manufacturing Ltd is responsible for optimizing the operational efficiency and reliability of our manufacturing plant's equipment and facilities. This role involves planning, organizing, and directing the maintenance and engineering activities to ensure safe, cost-effective, and high-quality production of beverage cans.
Job Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and manage preventative maintenance programs for all plant machinery, equipment, and facilities to minimize downtime and maximize operational uptime.
* Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on production lines and ancillary equipment.
* Manage capital projects from conception to completion, including scope definition, budget adherence, vendor selection, and project execution, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
* Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance, reduce waste, and improve overall plant efficiency and safety.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations and company standards.
* Collaborate with production, quality, and supply chain departments to optimize manufacturing processes and resolve operational challenges.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and spare parts inventory.
* Source and manage relationships with external contractors and suppliers for specialized services and parts.
* Prepare and manage the annual maintenance budget, controlling expenditures and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Job Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in a plant engineering or maintenance management role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the can manufacturing, packaging, or similar high-volume production industry.
* Strong knowledge of industrial machinery, automation, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
* Proven experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
* Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a technical team.
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
* Strong project management skills, with experience managing capital projects.
* Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Proficiency in English; Arabic language skills are a plus.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding manufacturing environment.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively at all levels of the organization.
Skills Required
