Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
Job duties and responsibilities are below and include but are not limited to working collectively with the Director of Engineering & Maintenance in overseeing and streamlining Maintenance and Engineering to achieve company goals.
- Become the equipment expert for all mill related and auxiliary equipment, including Mill, Furnace, Tables, Saws, Shears, Grinders and Pickling line.
- Design and develop electrical systems and components, including power distribution, automation and control systems tailored for manufacturing processes.
- Conduct tests on electrical systems to ensure functionality and safety, troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Assist in installation and start-up of new equipment.
- Maintain detailed documentation of electrical systems, including schematics, specifications and maintenance records.
- Work with operations to improve the quality and efficiency of the process/product.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive preventative maintenance and spares plan.
- Learn and gain proficient level knowledge of RS Logix 5000 that controls the mill complex.
- Create and maintain GANTT (or equivalent) schedules in support of capital installation, equipment repairs and upgrades.
Required Education & Qualifications
- 4 Year Degree in Electrical Engineering or suitable STEM major.
- Project management experience preferred.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems.
- Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Hands-on aptitude required.
- Experience drafting reports and organizing data.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to analyze and interpret technical information, including technical drawings.
- Must be capable of learning ladder logic.
