Job Description

  

Plant Controller

Teledyne Relays is seeking a hands-on, results-driven Plant Controller to lead the site accounting and finance function and serve as a trusted business partner to the Plant Manager and leadership team. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting; maintaining strong internal controls; driving cost visibility and operational performance; and leading the annual budget, forecasting, and financial planning processes for the site.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities·Lead all plant accounting, controlling, and financial planning activities, partnering closely with the Plant Manager and site leadership to improve operational and financial performance.·Maintain a strong cost accounting environment, including product costing, inventory valuation, manufacturing variances, cost standards, margin analysis, and profitability reporting.·Lead the annual budget, monthly forecast, including labor and overhead planning, sales and volume assumptions, capital spending, and expense control.·Prepare, analyze, and present monthly and quarterly financial results, operating reviews, key performance indicators, and financial narratives for division and corporate leadership.·Strengthen and maintain the site’s internal control environment and ensure compliance with SOX 404, GAAP, company policies, and applicable accounting requirements.·Coordinate internal and external audit activities and ensure timely resolution of findings and remediation plans.·Manage and monitor company assets, including inventory and fixed assets, through appropriate controls, physical verification, cycle counting, and other audit methodologies.·Maintain labor rates, indirect rates, escalation factors, and other financial inputs used for inventory valuation, proposals and estimates at completion (EACs).·Provide financial analysis and decision support for cost savings initiatives, pricing support, capital investments, make/buy decisions, productivity improvements, and operational projects.·Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting tools, automation, internal controls, and overall finance department effectiveness.·Perform other duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities·Lead, coach, and develop accounting and finance team members, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.·Set clear expectations, provide timely feedback and support training and development to enhance team capabilities.Required Skills & Experience·Strong background in cost accounting, standard cost systems, inventory valuation, variance analysis, and margin analysis.·Working knowledge of revenue recognition principles, including ASC 606; defense contracting experience is strongly preferred.·Solid understanding of GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, internal controls, and financial reporting standards.·Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and business partnership skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable operational insights.·Advanced proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools; experience with Infor XA, OneStream, or similar systems is a plus.Qualifications·Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.·CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.·7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment with exposure to standard costing and defense contracting.

  

Salary Range:

$188,000.00-$250,700.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
