Manufacturing Controller / Plant Controller

Silgan Closures is seeking a Manufacturing Controller / Plant Controller to lead accounting and financial operations for our Hazleton, PA facility. This high-impact role oversees cost accounting, manufacturing finance, inventory control, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, and operational analysis while partnering directly with plant leadership to drive business performance.

What You'll Do
Lead plant accounting and cost accounting activities
Manage month-end close, financial reporting, and reconciliations
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and annual operating plans
Maintain standard costs and Bills of Material (BOMs)
Analyze labor, material, overhead, inventory, and manufacturing variances
Manage physical inventory and inventory reconciliation processes
Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and audit requirements
Partner with operations leaders to improve plant performance and profitability
Supervise accounting and administrative functions
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years of manufacturing accounting, cost accounting, or plant finance experience
Strong understanding of GAAP, inventory accounting, and financial reporting
ERP system experience
Advanced Excel skills
Ability to influence decisions across finance and operations

Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and manufacturing finance principles
- Experience with ERP systems such as JD Edwards or similar platforms
- Advanced Excel skills (ability to build and analyze complex spreadsheets)
- Experience with physical inventory processes, cycle counts, and reconciliations
- Experience ensuring SOX internal controls and safeguarding company assets
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple priorities
