Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Review and interpret customer specifications, purchase orders, engineering drawings, models, and revisions to ensure compliance with customer requirements and company capabilities. 
  • Evaluate customer specifications to establish new manufacturing processes and identify gaps between existing processes and customer requirements.
  • Develop detailed, step-by-step manufacturing work instructions for complex machined components and aircraft assemblies.
  • Determine when additional sketches, visual aids, or process documentation are required to support manufacturing operations.
  • Analyze engineering drawings and CAD models to identify product configuration changes and manufacturing impacts.
  • Create and maintain work orders, routers, travelers, certification documents, technique cards, and other manufacturing documentation to ensure proper flow-down of customer requirements and objective evidence of conformance.
  • Plan, prioritize, and schedule workflow for each department and operation based on manufacturing sequences, production capacity, and customer lead times.
  • Schedule all new customer orders, product introductions, and engineering packages to support production requirements.
  • Coordinate with Production Planning to ensure accurate work orders and manufacturing documentation are created and released.
  • Generate internal and external rework work orders and revise routing steps as necessary to support engineering changes and nonconforming material.
  • Maintain specifications, work instructions, work centers, process routings, and matrix data within the MRP/ERP system.
  • Monitor the MRP dashboard daily to ensure work orders, schedules, and production priorities are accurate and current.
  • Review customer specification revisions and perform gap analyses to implement required process changes.
  • Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve quality, throughput, efficiency, productivity, and cost.
  • Evaluate tooling, paint processes, labor utilization, and manufacturing methods to identify cost reduction and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) and continuous improvement tools, including FMEA, Pareto Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), to reduce manufacturing risk and improve process performance.
  • Coordinate project activities with Engineering, Planning, Production, Quality, Purchasing, and outside processing vendors to ensure customer requirements and production schedules are achieved.
  • Provide technical support to internal departments and approved outside processing vendors regarding manufacturing processes, specifications, and documentation.
  • Create, revise, and maintain manufacturing procedures, processing instructions, and quality work instructions.
  • Conduct Planning-related training, including MRP processes and compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
  • Track planning metrics and monitor workflow to support on-time delivery and manufacturing performance.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality systems, customer requirements, AS9100/NADCAP requirements (as applicable), ITAR/EAR regulations, and all applicable company policies.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required

  • Experience: 5 plus years of experience in Planning Processing 
  • Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Engineering background 
  • Able to read blueprint reading is a plus 
  • Aerospace background is a plus

Skills Required
