The Planning Specialist for Containers coordinates container supply and logistics based on forecasts and operational demand, ensuring timely availability for rail shipments and effective communication across stakeholders.

What will be your responsibilities?

  • Plan container requirements based on customer forecasts and operational demand to ensure sufficient availability for rail shipments
  • Coordinate container supply with external container providers to ensure continuous operational readiness
  • Monitor container availability and movements in the Yard Management System (YMS)
  • Translate customer shipping plans into operational instructions for warehouse and yard operations
  • Coordinate container loading activities with warehouse teams to meet rail transport schedules
  • Ensure containers are prepared, available, and ready for loading within required time windows
  • Monitor operational progress and identify risks that may impact container flow or train departures
  • Communicate planning updates and container requirements across internal and external stakeholders
  • Support coordination between planning, warehouse operations, and transport partners
  • Monitor KPIs such as container utilization, dwell time, and stock levels
  • Identify deviations and escalate operational risks to the MP&L Manager
  • Adjust container planning based on forecast changes and operational requirements
     

What do we expect from you?

  • Secondary education (logistics/supply chain preferred)
  • Experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or transport planning – advantage
  • Experience with logistic systems (YMS, SAP or similar) – advantage
  • Strong analytical and planning skills
  • Ability to work with operational data and identify risks
  • Good understanding of logistics and material flow processes
  • Ability to translate planning data into operational execution
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication and coordination skills across multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
  • Basic computer literacy and numeracy skills
  • Communication in English as advantage
  • Willingness to work in a two-shift operation (launch of the second shift expected in September 2027)
