The Planning Manager will lead, develop and provide direction for the planning team, overseeing day-to-day activities, making strategic decisions, and partnering cross-functionally to achieve success related to delivery, production, and financial goals, including inventory management.
The position will work closely with several Production and Material Planners and strive to serve the End Customer’s requirement in the Institutional, Food & Beverage, Quick Service Restaurant, Water, Paper, and Energy Services divisions which are distributed across the geographically diverse market in Singapore.
Responsibilities:
Drive S&OP cross-functionally with planning, procurement customer service, and sales to:
Plan, forecast & allocate critical and or constrained materials;
Minimize Excess & Obsolete materials;
Achieve DIFOT target.
Set clear objective and guide the team to ensure alignment with overall site-specific, and broader team goals
Lead and facilitate team and cross-functional meetings to evaluate metrics while addressing challenges and opportunities.
Handle escalations and complex issues related to production planning, raw material planning and inventory goals.
Make critical decisions that impact the efficiency and effectiveness of site planning operations.
Projects and process improvement: Lead and drive projects focused on cost savings, process improvement and supply chain optimization.
Identify opportunities for optimizing processes, reducing waste and improving overall supply chain performance.
Collaborate with TPM team on implementation of programs such as TPM, 5S etc while ensuring its long-term sustainability.
Develop and mentor team members providing guidance, training and support to foster talent and skill development.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance individual and team performance.
Requirements:
Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or related field with a minimum of 2 years of working experience in the FMCG or Chemical Industry or a minimum of 5 years of working experience in the manufacturing sector and a degree in a business discipline.
Strong leadership and work ethic. A process-driven mentality is crucial. Proven team leadership is compulsory.
Solid comprehension of the end-to-end supply chain, able to independently analyze and take initiative to resolve issues within and outside of the department and work together with Customer and Supplier Supply Chains.
Strong MS Excel skills and experience with other planning software & tools - SAP & JDA is an added advantage. MS Office experience also required.
Attention to details and sensitive to numbers and data is a must.
Forecast Continuous Improvement: Implement a continuous improvement plan to improve forecast accuracy.
Strong communication skills (Good command of English is required). Able to effectively communicate up, down and across the organization.
People Development & Coaching: Defines the concepts of people development, including disciplinary processes, organizing individuals, harnessing the potential of your team and other motivational and corrective strategies.
Manage Complexity: Making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
