Job Description
Overview
The Alternative Fleet Time Docking Capability (AFTDC) department is a small professional team within the Client organisation. The team is responsible ensuring Programme delivery is fully integrated with Base readiness to deliver a safe, secure, and effective docking and engineering support capability at the Client site.
The Planning Manager role is responsible for developing, maintaining and communicating the AFTDC Plan into the Base. The Planning Manager will be the Planning interface with the Programme planners to ensure the integrated plan including key milestones; critical dates and interdependencies are captured, agreed and delivered into the Base Integrated Plan.
The role will work with a range of Stakeholders, including Planning and Risk Managers, to identify risks, potential mitigations and opportunities. They generate schedules and succinct reports which support informed decision making and adds clarity and value to the Programme.
Tasks
- Capability Customer and interface for Programme Integrated Planning/Risk activity.
- Analyse from a Base perspective Programme integrated Plans and Risk. Challenge discrepancies, risks, issues and assist to develop opportunities and mitigation action.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to carry out integrated planning reviews ensuring schedules and plans are robust, accurate and realistic.
- Engage with Planning and Risk stakeholders to understand the impact of Programme activities on the overall plan. Provide feedback to the Programme Planner of impact to Programme from the integrated plan.
- Support risk and opportunity identification between Base and Programme, including assisting in the development of mitigation plans.
- Work collaboratively with Risk leads to carry out risk reviews to ensure risks are accurately captured with no duplicated entries.
- Track and report on the status of mitigation actions to ensure they are being managed.
- Submit accurate plans for inclusion in the base Integrated Plan by agreed dates
- Support the team, developing plans and provide progress reports to Delivery Sponsor
- Lead any activity in support of delivering against their objectives.
- On behalf of AFTDC provide an interface with internal and external stakeholders and represent AFTDC at any associated meetings and working groups for the progress of Programme Planning and Risk activities.
- Correspond with other Client departments, private sector companies, consultants or contractors on behalf of AFTDC as required.
- Provide progress reports and issue updates to relevant meetings.
Qualifications
Strong Primavera P6 practitioner skills
Microsoft Office 365 (MS OS 365) Packages including Project
Strong Risk Management experience
APM Qualified

Assume hybrid working with up to 3 days/week spent in the Client's Glasgow office
