Position Summary  

The Planning and Master Data Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate product master data and supporting effective production planning processes to optimize service, quality, and efficiency across the organization. This role combines responsibilities for creating and maintaining product master data (BOMs, routings, and related records) with planning and scheduling activities that drive operational performance and support customer needs. The position will collaborate closely with business process owners, supply chain, operations, and cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy, efficient planning, and seamless execution of product launches and projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Master Data Management
    • Create, validate, and maintain product master data records (BOMs, routings, item masters) in ERP and related systems (SAP, PIM, DAM, MDM/Data Quality).
    • Process and distribute new material and data record requests, ensuring compliance with established standards.
    • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of master data to support business processes and customer experience.
    • Identify and implement process improvements and system enhancements to strengthen data integrity and usability.
    • Support ad hoc projects requiring mass data creation or modification.
    • Monitor data quality, identify errors or inconsistencies, and take corrective actions.
  • Planning & Scheduling:
    • Develop, maintain, and execute short- and long-term production plans to meet demand, inventory, and service level objectives.
    • Analyze demand, supply, and capacity requirements to optimize scheduling and resource allocation.
    • Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and customer service to ensure alignment on plans and priorities.
    • Adjust schedules to address changes in demand, supply disruptions, or operational constraints while minimizing impacts on service.
    • Provide visibility into production schedules, material availability, and potential risks to stakeholders.
    • Support new product introductions and product transitions by aligning planning activities with accurate master data.
  • Cross-Functional & Project Support:
    • Partner with cross-functional teams on product launches, system updates, and process improvements.
    • Contribute to system testing, report development, and tool enhancements to support both planning and data management functions.
    • Assist in identifying opportunities for efficiency, cost reduction, and improved service levels.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

• 2+ years of experience in ERP master data management (SAP strongly preferred) and/or production planning/scheduling.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite; experience with databases, SharePoint, or workflow systems a plus.

• Effective communicator with strong collaboration skills and customer focus.

• Ability to adapt to changing business needs, system enhancements, and project requirements.
