Job Summary:
Coordinate the planning of a product line to support the demand of the business. This includes expediting, and interfacing with manufacturing and quality departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs in 1 major functional area:
- Coordinates production planning workflow for one or multiple products
- Reviews the monthly build plan and creates/schedules work orders to load the manufacturing floor to best utilize production work cell equipment and resources, based on material availability
- Collaborates with appropriate team members to determine optimal utilization of production capacities and to resolve scheduling conflicts
- Prepares/updates daily, weekly and monthly production, sales and inventory reports
- Works with the materials team to research and remedy inventory errors resulting from missing and incorrect work order transactions
- Understand and manage risks to minimize impact on the production schedule
- Support department and divisional goals
Job Skills & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge base in operating systems: MAPICS, APS, manufacturing backlog
- Computer proficiency in Office; especially Word & Excel
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain working relationships internally and externally
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and apply critical thinking to problem solving
- Demonstrated ability to consistently meet deadlines
- Ability to coordinate work flow and identify and respond to priorities
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Understanding of shop floor and flow of product
Education and Experience:
- HS Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 4 years of production scheduling or prior planning experience is preferred
- Previous experience using MRP software
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organizations’ facilities.
