In this role, you will have the opportunity to generate a detailed production schedule based on the production plan to maximize the use of resources and meet established production specifications and schedules. Each day, you will feed information on production capacity issues and material availability. You will also showcase your expertise by releasing manufacturing work orders.
As a Materials Planner, you will play a vital role in the procurement and logistics team in NEMA Motors – Motion in St. Louis, Missouri.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for the execution of materials inventory management activities such as in planning, ordering, scheduling, expediting and maintaining appropriate inventory levels to meet the needs of manufacturing’s production schedules.

This role is contributing to ABB’s NEMA Motors Division, in Saint Louis, MO.
You will be mainly accountable for
- Promoting and supporting facility safety initiatives and efforts.
- Supporting manufacturing schedules by executing all aspects of materials planning, ordering, scheduling and expediting such as planning inventory levels, placing orders, updating orders, resolving order issues, and scheduling transportation and delivery of respective materials/commodities.
- Managing stock transfers by checking orders/availability and coordinating with suppliers, and recommending production rescheduling when required.
- Helping accomplish the facility’s inventory management objectives through effective management of raw, WIP, buffer and bulk inventories for respective materials/commodities.

Qualifications for the role
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Materials or Supply Chain Management is highly preferred.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment is desirable.
- Microsoft Office products skills are required (Excel, Word, PP)
- APICS CPIM, or an active plan for achievement is preferred
- Lean and/or Six-Sigma certifications would be helpful
- Candidates meeting preferred educational requirements or who have demonstrated experience in the field of Supply Chain or Supply Chain Management will be considered.
- Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
