BASIC FUNCTION:

Identify and determine the appropriate schedule for assembly cells based upon average daily demand rates, experience, and judgment. Release material replenishment signals from either Kanban’s or computer-generated release messages to both internal and external suppliers.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Schedule assembly cells based upon experience, knowledge, and judgment with reference to scheduling tools or other methods.
  • Send Kanban releases for material replenishment to both internal and external suppliers
  • Place purchase orders from computer-generated buy reports for eROP and buy-to-order components
  • Add work orders into ERP system based on incoming sales orders and from computer generated make reports
  • Determine need for scheduling sales orders where standard lead times do not exist or fall outside standard lead-time parameters and schedule such sales orders.
  • Meaningfully participates in the walk-through discussion
  • Update cell tactical supply chain boards
  • Identify late materials and expedite late material from either internal or external suppliers.
  • Pareto missed shipment data
  • Monitor and respond to supplier portal messages
  • Timely reschedule any customer order, as information comes available, that it will ship late.
  • Assist in resizing of Kanban and eROP material replenishment systems
  • Provide effective support to new product introduction teams.
  • Prepare and send RFQ/​RFIs for sourcing-related projects. ​
  • Perform financial analysis of RFQ results to determine overall cost competitiveness. ​
  • Assist Operations in improving supplier recoveries related to non-conforming materials and late deliveries.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills/Abilities:
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, standard work instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Computer skills to include Microsoft Office products.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
    • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. 
  • Education: Associate’s degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience: 4+ years of related experience
  • Skills/Abilities:
    • Ability to write reports and correspondence. 
    • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization. 
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 
    • Ability to interpret a variety of information in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree
