SUPERVISES: Not Applicable
PURPOSE: The Planner / Scheduler I supports the U.S. Navy’s Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence (AMCoE) by assisting with the development and maintenance of production plans and schedules driving efficient manufacturing execution, effective resource utilization, and on-time delivery of work.
AUTHORITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:- Creates and maintains work order structures within the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to define operations and track production activities.
- Creates and updates schedule activities aligned with work order operations and work cell execution.
- Supports the development of detailed build routings and sequences within MES.
- Identifies, sequences, and links construction activities in accordance with established manufacturing routings and scheduling criteria.
- Supports the development of detailed production work packages.
- Updates the progress in the schedules on a weekly basis, analyzes performance, and participates in efforts to address deviations to baseline, as required.
- Supports the development and maintenance of an integrated master schedule by accurately entering data into MES.
- Prints progress reports and manning requirements.
- Assists in the development of corrective action measures such as schedule revisions, routing changes, manpower adjustments.
- Reviews schedule sequencing and critical paths to understand production impacts and timing projections.
- Provides guidance and day-to-day support to junior scheduling or production support personnel, as directed.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
- 0 - 2 years’ experience in production planning, scheduling, or a related function.
- Demonstrated knowledge of planning and scheduling principles, practices, techniques, and tools.
- Experience with cost and resource loaded schedules utilizing scheduling software preferred.
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and performance measurement techniques preferred.
- Process-oriented, customer service-driven problem-solver, self-starter and team player, who is energized in a changing, fast-paced environment with constant deadlines. Detail-oriented, organized, able to concentrate for long periods of time in the face of distraction, applies strong logical and analytical thinking skills, understands spatial and temporal relationships.
- Effective communication skills, particularly questioning and listening.
- Able to facilitate teamwork with various departments and effect customer satisfaction with internal and external customers.
- Computer literate utilizing all Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with Government contracts a plus.
