AMT is growing and is seeking a highly motivated Water Resources Engineer, with 10+ years of relevant experience, to join our growing team of environmental professionals in our Fredericksburg, VA office. The right candidate would bring experience in making sure projects are compliant with the Virginia Erosion and Stormwater Management Program, including the new standards and will provide plan review services to our existing governmental clients where we also provide staff augmentation to help build local programs, conduct site inspections, and develop corrective actions for local projects to meet VESMP program needs.
We provide an Excellent Work / Life Balance and an opportunity to work a Hybrid (Combination of Office and Remote) schedule. This can also be a full or part time position depending on the candidate and could be accommodated in other Virginia-based offices.

Responsibilities
- Completion of plan review services including SWM, erosion and sediment control and drainage design.
- Reviewing hydrology and hydraulics modeling and other supporting calculations for water quantity and quality compliance on projects.
- Reviewed other environmental permit approvals from state and local agencies for program compliance.
- Providing support for other local program needs including staff augmentation for some clients.
- Coordinate internally with other AMT engineers.
- Coordinate externally with applicants, design engineers, clients, and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure project deliverables meet client requirements and follow program and QA/QC procedures.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Civil Engineering, Water Resources or an Environmental equivalent.
- Dual Combined Administrator (DCA) with current and valid certifications for plan review, plan inspection and overall administration of erosion and sediment control, and stormwater management.
- Professional Engineer license is a plus.
- Certified Floodplain Manager is a plus.
- Self-motivated, capable of working independently or within project teams.
- Excellent organizational, coordination, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
