Grand Canyon Education’s online enrollment division is seeking a Placement Coordinator.

Responsibilities:

  • Handles out-bound and in-bound practicum student calls while meeting GCU customer service standards.

  • Contacts applying practicum students as first point of contact in the practicum application process to inform them of the steps and requirements.

  • Coordinates practicum requests with the Teacher Placement Specialist.

  • Responsible for collecting, verifying, tracking, and ensuring all requirements and prerequisites of the practicum applicants are met within required timelines.

  • Informs in-state and out-of-state practicum applicants regarding GCU’s student expectations, processes, contacts, and requirements of the practicum experience; escalates in-depth questions to other team members

  • Prepares and distributes necessary information to students regarding the practicum(s).

  • Creates a positive front end experience to ensure practicum students see the application process is not difficult and ensures students understand their responsibilities in the process.

  • May need to interact with Student Service Advisers and/or the College of Education regarding student’s questions about the process.

  • Reviews, verifies, tracks, and ensures practicum candidates who reside in Georgia have met all requirements and obligations of the student teaching and other practicum requirements.

  • Establishes rapport and positive relationships with students and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Encourages students to ensure they are on track with meeting specific placement and practicum requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred from a regionally accredited college or university.

  • Six months’ related work experience such as a high-volume in-bound/out-bound call center and preferably in higher education

  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to effectively answer and respond to high volume calls.

  • Good planning and organizational skills.

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and successfully manage high volume of practicum students (minimum number of 350).

  • Ability to develop positive student relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to work cohesively in a team-based environment.

  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.

  • Effective communications skills.

  • Self-motivated and action oriented.

  • Ability to maintain highly sensitive or confidential student information.

  • Proficient with standard office computer programs.

  • Ability to communicate in a non-English language is helpful, but not required.

  • Willingness to work in a call center.

  • Ability to learn complex information and succinctly provide requirements to students.

  • Must be able to pass background investigations.

  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
