Job Summary:

The Pipeline Director will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee pipeline operations, maintenance, integrity, construction, and related client service activities within the organization. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, efficient, and cost-effective execution of pipeline work while supporting operational excellence, financial performance, and sustainable growth. Developing and enhancing client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and expanding the value of existing pipeline-related services are expected to be aligned with and of equal importance to achieving strong operational results. This role will report to the Sr. Vice President, Regional Operations & Services.

Primary Job Function:

  • Execute pipeline operations, maintenance, integrity, construction, and business development strategies to deliver on safety, quality, schedule, revenue, and EBITDA objectives.
  • Analyze market conditions, client needs, and operational performance to identify opportunities to increase revenue, expand pipeline service offerings, and accomplish financial objectives.
  • Maintain an understanding of contract structures and work with customers to manage project risk, improve commercial outcomes, and increase reimbursable or negotiated work opportunities.
  • Provide strategic leadership for pipeline integrity, maintenance, construction, facilities, and related field execution activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, regulatory, client, and company standards while promoting a strong culture of safety and operational discipline.
  • Collaborate with business units and support functions to integrate engineering, construction, maintenance, integrity, and field service capabilities that provide the most value to clients.
  • Leverage the organization’s capabilities to grow work in pipeline integrity, pipeline maintenance, construction, pipeline facilities, and related infrastructure services.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals while providing expertise and guidance on pipeline operations, projects, systems, and client delivery.
  • Establish, implement, and communicate the strategic direction for assigned pipeline operations and service lines.
  • Deliver financial results through effective execution, operational excellence, cost control, and client-focused service delivery.
  • Review cost-control reports, cost estimates, staffing requirements, schedules, and resource plans for pipeline projects and ongoing maintenance work.
  • Present periodic performance reports, operational metrics, financial updates, and business development activity to executive leadership.
  • Develop and deploy short- and long-term strategies that support operational growth, financial performance, risk management, and mission-critical pipeline execution.
  • Evaluate operational performance against organizational goals and implement process improvements to support sustainable growth and minimize risk.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted operational and commercial partner for pipeline-related services.

Experience:

  • At least 10 years of industry-related experience, including leadership experience within pipeline operations, maintenance, integrity, construction, facilities, or related energy infrastructure services.
  • Minimum 6+ years of business development, client management, project leadership, or operational management experience within the midstream, downstream, pipeline, or energy services industry.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams, managing financial performance, and overseeing safe, compliant execution of pipeline-related work is preferred.

Education/Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or another industry-related field.
  • Additional education, licensing, or certifications relevant to pipeline operations, project management, safety, or the energy sector are a plus.

Competencies:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead by example, build accountability, and display transparency.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with executive leadership, operations teams, field personnel, clients, subcontractors, and support departments.
  • Strong project management, operational planning, and execution background.
  • Deep experience pursuing new work, developing client relationships, and growing pipeline-related service offerings.
  • Knowledge of pipeline operations, maintenance, integrity, construction, facilities, safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Strong understanding of operational risk, cost control, resource planning, and contract execution.
  • Ability to achieve outcomes, resolve challenges, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced operating environment.
  • Ability to communicate candidly and professionally while maintaining productive working relationships.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret budgets, forecasts, cost reports, and performance metrics.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to foster innovation, continuous improvement, and practical solutions across pipeline operations and project delivery.
