JOB SUMMARY

Job Profile Summary

ONEOK is seeking a Pipeline Control Simulation Coordinator who will be responsible for managing and supporting the Pipeline Control Center simulator environment used to prepare pipeline controllers for required training, abnormal operating conditions, emergency response scenarios, and other real-world pipeline control situations. This role will support Pipeline Control training and simulation needs across ONEOK’s NGL console groups by coordinating simulator scheduling, maintaining scenario content, supporting system improvements, and helping ensure training scenarios reflect day-to-day controller experiences.

The Pipeline Control Simulation Coordinator will collaborate closely with Pipeline Control, Pipeline Modeling, SCADA, IT, engineers, lead controllers, and other internal stakeholders to design, test, document, and continuously improve simulation modules before they are placed into production. This position requires strong pipeline operations knowledge, Microsoft 365 proficiency, technical documentation skills, independent problem-solving, and the ability to influence and coordinate across business units with minimal day-to-day oversight. Experience in pipeline control, operations control, board operations, plant operations, SCADA, simulation tools, reporting, or Power BI may be especially valuable for candidates who understand pipeline operations and enjoy thinking creatively to improve training and system effectiveness.

This salaried position is based at ONEOK Plaza in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and follows a hybrid Monday–Friday work schedule.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Manage the Pipeline Control Center (PCC) simulator environment, including scheduling and oversight of patching, maintenance, software upgrades, and resolution of hardware and/or equipment issues; develop communication plan to communicate impacts to stakeholders

  • Responsible for developing a scheduling process for the simulator environment that will enable scheduling of individual training sessions across multiple stakeholder groups

  • Create, maintain, and document different training scenarios with different parameters around each unique setup for a scenario. Help with keeping track of all the different possibilities

  • Develop a strategic “roadmap” and long-term plan for the PCC simulator environment that includes resource requirements, additional functionality, and system requirements that promote continuous improvement of the environment. Create and maintain the program collaboratively with major stakeholders, with a focus on future growth and expansion capabilities

  • Ensure simulation capabilities remain consistent with existing Operational procedures; ensure new programming logic and/or assets can be simulated through the development of new scenarios

  • Collaborate with groups to utilize and integrate tools that will assist in more accurately representing the day to day experiences of a Pipeline Controller (Max Log, PI)

  • Able to identify and assist in SCADA and operational differences – understanding differences in approach to set points between groups and pipeline systems

  • Create and maintain up to date user training documentation

  • Develop reporting to demonstrate training progress, scenario content, pass rates or other ad hoc requests as needed

  • Creating management reports on training, scenarios, status reporting on pass rate
