Position Description:
Pipe Fitter
Provide mechanical maintenance support to facilities & utilities for the Rahway, New Jersey pharmaceutical research campus and headquarters for our Company. Support day-to-day preventative and corrective maintenance for assigned area(s) and may include technical input to mechanical utilities HVAC, steam, water, and/or other utilities.
Experienced Industrial Pipefitter with working knowledge of mechanical operations, able to maintain, install, repair, and troubleshoot Industrial/Commercial plant equipment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Layout, assemble, install, alter, modify, repair, and test pipe systems that carry site utilities (water, steam, air, or other liquids and gases).
• Read and Understand blueprints and P&I diagrams.
• Fabricate supports, mounts, and braces for pipelines, valves, instruments, and connected equipment.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot regulators, gauges, valves, traps, and equipment connected to piping. Install and repair drainage systems in compliance with applicable plumbing codes.
• Repair tanks including heating coils, insulation, associated pipe systems, and insulation as required. Perform appropriate pressure tests and leak tests to ensure repairs are done properly.
• Assist in performing other duties, including work of other trades as required.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a safe, efficient, and clean operating condition.
• This position requires interactions with internal customers and external service providers. As well as supports and contributes to the maintenance planning process.
• Uses all tools and equipment necessary to make installations and repairs, diagnose, and remedy mechanical problems quickly. Proficient in rigging and the setup of rigging equipment needed to execute repair work.
• Ensures compliance requirements: i.e. - Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety, environmental, goals are achieved.
• Supports a Target Zero Safety Culture.
• Completes training requirements as defined in the training plan. Provides complete written documentation of work including work orders, PM's, etc., and maintains cGMP records related to maintenance and repair.
• Document maintenance activities using SAP Plant Maintenance system.
• Utilize electronic technologies; electronic work order systems, e-training, and email.

Position Qualifications :
Education Minimum Requirements:

• High School Graduate or equivalent
• Vocational or Technical school certification

Required Experience and Skills:

• 4 years Pipe Fitter trade apprenticeship or 5 years of experience as an Industrial Pipefitter with increasing levels of responsibility or 4 years recent (within the last 7 years) full-time military experience as a pipefitter/plumber.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to work as part of a team is a must. Applicants must be familiar with all phases of Industrial Maintenance.
