- Lay out, assemble, and install piping systems according to blueprints, specifications, and building codes.
- Cut, thread, and fit pipes using tools such as saws, pipe cutters, and threading machines.
- Braze pipe joints with high precision, ensuring no leaks or structural weaknesses.
- Installs and modifies systems like those described above by setting up system routes and placing hangers for proper elevation. Install risers, flexible branches, expansion joints, pumps, gauges, pressure regulators, and other parts.
- Maintains cleanliness requirements for various systems throughout the fabrication and installation process.
- Read and interpret mechanical and general arrangement drawings, schematics, and specifications to plan the sequence of pipe installations.
- Document work processes, materials used, and any deviations from plans for future reference or audits.
- Work in other areas of the plant as may be required to support production.
- Perform work in a safe and efficient manner. Keep work area clean and orderly
- Maintain ISO-9001 standards
- Perform all duties in a safe manner; support all safety and environmental rules and environmental initiatives.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and standards related to pipefitting, welding, and brazing.
- Ensure compliance with EPA608 Universal Certification requirements when handling refrigerants, particularly in systems that include cooling or air conditioning components.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; preference for those with a vocational degree or technical school training in pipefitting or related trades.
- Certified in brazing, preferably with experience in handling HVAC gas systems or technical gas brazing.
- EPA608 Universal Certification for handling refrigerants.
- Preferred 3-5 years of experience in industrial pipefitting, with a focus on manufacturing environments.
- Proven experience with a variety of pipe materials (steel, copper, PVC)
- HVAC Experience Preferred
- Strong understanding of piping system design, including pressure systems for steam, hot water, and chemical conveyance.
- Ability to use hand and power tools effectively and safely.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Skilled and experienced to read and interpret written instructions, bill of materials, production schedules and blueprints
- Ability to learn how to properly handle overhead cranes and forklift
- Ability to troubleshoot circuits and devices and recommend changes or improvements
- Working knowledge of ERP systems
- Familiarity with current NEC code requirements and interpretation
