Working closely with Physiotherapists, residents and multidisciplinary teams, you will support the delivery of tailored exercise programs and physiotherapy interventions that promote wellbeing and healthy ageing.

Your Opportunity 

This is a permanent full-time opportunity based in the Anglicare Health Centre, Castle Hill, working Monday to Friday. 

 

As a Physiotherapy Aide, you will support the delivery of physiotherapy services to clients visiting the Health Centre from our Retirement Living (Independent Living) Villages and wider community. This will be through individual and group exercise programs designed to improve mobility, strength, function and overall wellbeing. 

With empathy, professionalism and a resident-focused approach, you will: 

Service Delivery 

  • Assist with the delivery of individual and group physiotherapy programs as directed by the Physiotherapists 

  • Support residents with prescribed exercise programs and equipment use 

  • Monitor client participation and report changes in condition, behaviour or ability to the Physiotherapists 

  • Facilitate and attend meetings, as well as undertake administrative tasks, as required 

  • Work collaboratively with physiotherapists, care teams and other village staff  

Resident Wellbeing and Support 

  • Build positive relationships with residents and their families 

  • Encourage participation in therapy programs and wellness activities 

Scheduling and Administration 

  • Coordinate and manage resident exercise program schedules and appointments 

  • Communicate schedule changes to residents, physiotherapists, care teams and relevant stakeholders 

Safety and Workplace Culture 

  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised work environment in line with WHS and IMS requirements 

  • Follow work, health and safety procedures and report hazards appropriately 

  • Support a positive, collaborative and inclusive team culture 

 

What You will Bring 

You are a caring and enthusiastic Allied Health professional who enjoys helping older people improve their mobility, confidence and independence. 

You will also need: 

What's Required 

  • Qualification in Allied Health Assistance, Physiotherapy Assistance or a related discipline 

  • Minimum 2 years' experience supporting exercise programs, rehabilitation or mobility-focused interventions 

What's Preferred 

  • Experience scheduling appointments, group activities or therapy services 

  • Experience working within aged care, retirement living or community services 

  • Understanding of mobility, rehabilitation and physiotherapy support programs 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
