Valley-Wide Health Systems is seeking a Primary Care Physician/Family Practice Physician to provide comprehensive, high-quality primary and preventive care to patients across the lifespan. This position works as part of an integrated care team serving rural communities in southern Colorado and may include OB, inpatient, and after-hours call responsibilities based on scope of practice and organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary and preventive medical care to patients of all ages
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a broad range of acute and chronic health conditions within the scope of family medicine
- Prescribe medications in accordance with Colorado law and professional practice guidelines
- Provide patient-centered care in collaboration with clinical and support staff
- Complete patient documentation and required charting in the electronic health record within established timeframes
- Coordinate patient care, population health activities, referrals, and other clinical follow-up
- Provide oversight and supervision of advanced practice providers as assigned and in accordance with applicable regulations
- Participate in Peer Review, Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance activities, provider meetings, and other clinical initiatives
- Precept medical students, residents, and other learners from approved programs
- Acquire and maintain applicable hospital privileges and participate in inpatient and after-hours call services as designated
- Maintain nursing home privileges when required to support continuity of care for Valley-Wide patients
- Collaborate with local hospitals, healthcare organizations, community agencies, and other medical professionals to support coordinated patient care
- Maintain compliance with Valley-Wide policies and applicable state and federal regulations
Requirements
- MD or DO with successful completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency program
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine through the American Board of Family Medicine or American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians
- Board certification examination must be completed within one year, if applicable
- Current or eligible Colorado medical license
- Current DEA registration valid in Colorado
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications as required by Valley-Wide credentialing policies
- Previous clinical experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of an integrated healthcare team
- Commitment to providing high-quality care to rural and medically underserved populations
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred

Skills Required
- MD or DO degree
