We are looking for a Program Director to advance Indiana’s strategy to strengthen the rural healthcare workforce by expanding collaboration, communication, and availability and visibility of clinical preceptorship and training opportunities. This position will be Full-Time and Hybrid in Indianapolis, IN.
What You’ll Do
Program Administration
Establish and maintain standardized process for stipend administration
Develop and maintain program documentation and procedures
Maintain a centralized database of participants and stipend arrangements
Coordinate with legal, compliance, finance, and program leadership as needed
Eligibility and Enrollment
Verify eligibility based on program criteria
Ensure that executed agreements are in place prior to stipend payments
Track stipend effective dates, renewals, amendments, and expirations
Payment Administration
Calculate stipend amounts in accordance with approved agreements
Coordinate for timely disbursements of stipends
Monitor compliance with stipend terms, including service requirements
Resolve payment discrepancies and program inquiries
Maintain payment schedules and audits
Reporting and Documentation
Prepare monthly payment and utilization reports with budget updates
Maintain complete and accurate records for audit and compliance purposes
Prepare a yearly comprehensive review report to be presented to the Health Workforce Council
Provide data and documentation upon request
Prepare applicable tax reporting forms or data requests
Stakeholder Communication and Support
Serve as primary administrative contact for stipend inquiries
Provide guidance to participants regarding program requirements
Coordinate communication with prospective and active preceptors
Support leadership with program analysis and recommendations
What You'll Need
Required:
5 Years of experience working with healthcare organizations, rural communities, training providers, or public health systems
Strong understanding of workforce development strategies, credentialing pathways, and training program implementation
Knowledge of compliance, budgeting, and reporting requirements for state or federal grants
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail
Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills
Experience with CMS-funded programs, federal grants administration, or large-scale workforce initiatives
Preferred:
Familiarity with Indiana’s rural health landscape, including hospitals, FQHCs, EMS, behavioral health providers, schools, and community-based organizations
Experience collaborating with statewide associations, training institutions, or multi-stakeholder coalitions
Knowledge of rural health delivery, care coordination, or health system transformation
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time, with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings

$60 - $63 per hourThe pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
