McLeod Regional Medical Center is seeking a Neuro Endovascular Physician Assistant!

Qualifications/Training:

  • Minimum of a master’s degree as an Advance Practitioner in Associated specialty.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently.

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education:

  • Must possess a valid SC license – Physician’s Assistant (PA) and maintain McLeod Privileges or Certification as a nurse Practitioner by approved accrediting agency. 
  • BLS certification

Essential Job Responsibilities/Expectations:

  1. Job responsibilities include those listed in competencies documents.
  2. Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
  3. Functions as a part of the multidisciplinary Neuroservices team for provision of care to the Neurology, Stroke, Neurosurgical and Thrombectomy patients.
  4. As needed, provides education to patients and family members about specific disease processes.
  5. Serves as liaison between patients and clinical care providers, facilitating communication and coordination of care as needed.
  6. Participates in site specific Neuroservices conferences.
  7. Promotes the profession of Neuroservices Physician Assistance through patient in quality improvement initiatives within the Neuroservices program.
  8. Maintains working knowledge of current therapies and treatment details for the specific disease for the Neuroservices population served. Demonstrates competency in, but not limited to the following (refer to McLeod Health Competency Checklist):  
    1. Care Coordination
    2. Effective Communication
    3. Professionalism
    4. Patient Education
  9. Develops and maintains professional relationships with physicians/care providers and other professional colleagues.
  10. Is knowledgeable of and adheres to DNV Stroke accreditation standards.
  11. Participate in Neuroservices Committees as requested.
  12. Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner at all community events. 
  13. Work under an approved supervisory agreement with a South Carolina licensed physician, maintaining appropriate documentation as required by state law.
  14. Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations including history, physical examinations, and diagnostic workups. 
  15. Provide diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions within scope of practice.
  16.  Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures. 
  17. Perform clinical procedures such as suturing, wound care, splinting, injections, and other tasks consistent with training and credentialing. 
  18. Prescribe medications and therapies in compliance with South Carolina prescribing regulations. 
  19. Formulate and implement treatment plans, including patient education and follow up care. 
  20. Assist in coordinating care with specialists, ancillary services, and the broader healthcare team.
  21. Completes annual training and annual educational requirements timely.
  22. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).

Skills Required

  • Master's degree as an Advanced Practitioner in associated specialty
