We are currently seeking a committed Physical Therapist I to join our team and contribute to the well-being of our patients.
Responsibilities:
• Deliver physical therapy care to assigned patient population and document care accurately in the hospital medical record.
• Act as a consultant to various patient clinics, providing guidance and instruction to PT support staff, students, personnel of other disciplines within VCUHS, and patients and/or family members.
• Rotate through various clinical service areas as required.
• Independently conduct patient evaluations, implement plans of care, and participate in discharge planning.
• Order necessary equipment and represent the department at rounds and discharge conferences.
• Schedule and charge patients for services rendered.
Qualifications:
• Licensure: Licensed (or licensure eligible) by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Physical Therapist.
• Certification: Current CPR Certification if required by clinic or practice area.
• Experience: New graduate to up to 2 years of work experience as a Physical Therapist.
• Preferred Experience: Previous affiliation or work experience at a similar facility.
• Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Physical Therapy.
• Preferred Education: Masters or Doctoral Degree from an accredited School of Physical Therapy.
Supervisory Responsibilities (if applicable):
• May supervise Physical Therapist Assistants, Rehab Technicians, students, and volunteers.
• Member of a self-directed team, contributing to daily clinic problem-solving.
Additional Position Requirements:
• Schedules and work hours established with specific Manager, including weekends and holidays as required.
• Age-specific groups served: Pediatrics, Adolescence, Adults, Geriatrics.
Physical Requirements:
• Lifting 50-100 lbs.
• Frequent bending, walking, climbing, reaching, and repetitive motions.
• Strong recall, reasoning, problem-solving, hearing, speaking clearly, writing legibly, reading, and logical thinking.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities, adapt to frequent changes, and engage in frequent and intense customer interactions.
