You will join the dedicated R&D teams in Cambridge that create and improve the products behind the company’s rapid growth. Our software engineers within the Analyst Systems teams work across a wide variety of projects and with a diverse toolset, as a team they build and maintain all tools and platforms used by the Analyst teams in their workflows.
This is a hybrid role, and the expectation would be to work at least 2 days a week in the Cambridge office.

As a software engineer within the Analyst Systems team, your role will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Improving the performance and competencies of existing web applications and platforms, including backend resources,
- Writing clean and scalable code,
- Integrating internal elements that are focused on user experience and that were made by frontend developers,
- Adjusting the IT product for different types of browsers,
- Developing detailed specifications,
- Testing at all stages of the product cycle to determine how well it performs and adjust as needed,
- Searching for optimal solutions to release the highest quality product,
- Creating internal features,
- Implementing updates and documentation,
Innovation is of paramount importance and as such, creativity in approach is encouraged as much as traditional project-based development.
Candidate requirements:
We welcome applications from engineers who have a solution focused mindset combined with an analytical approach and problem-solving skills. During the interview process you’ll be able to demonstrate your ability using PHP with frameworks such as Laravel.
As a software engineer within the Analyst systems team, you will gain exposure to IaC tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
It’s likely that you’ll be:
- You will have the ability to lead and contribu features from conception to deployment,
- Prioritise how work fits into wider team progress, as well as solving immediate challenges,
- Comfortable working autonomously and taking independent decisions as well as having the ability to work cooperatively within a team,
- Experience using web technologies such as: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js, and JavaScript-based libraries,
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of secure web development,
Experience of databases like NoSQL and SQL, as working with a range of other function web frameworks such as Yii and Symfony would be beneficial too.
