Job Description:
Run & Reliability
- Own incident management end-to-end (triage, mitigation, root-cause analysis, postmortems with action items).
- Proactively identify performance bottlenecks and lead tuning (PHP, MySQL, caching, queues).
- Ensure availability of critical flows: browse → cart → checkout → payment → order capture → fulfillment.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead postmortem programs (blameless) and drive remediation.
- Reduce toil via scripting/automation (Bash/Python/PHP CLI).
Day-to-Day Activities
- Triage production incidents, coordinating war-room, executing mitigations, communicate status.
- Deep-dive into error spikes (HTTP 5xx/4xx patterns, queue backlogs, long-running queries).
- Support stakeholders with ad-hoc investigations (orders, payments, invoices, shipments).
Required Qualifications
- 3–6+ years in Production Support/Operations/Development for PHP-based web applications.
- Strong with PHP debugging; familiarity with pure PHP development.
- Solid Linux (shell, systemd, networking basics).
- MySQL expertise (slow query analysis and indexing).
- CMS expertise in CMS, namely Drupal and Acquia ecosystem.
- Project Management Tools expertise namely Atlassian suite (JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo, Bitbucket).
- Caching & queues: via Bamboo & Drupal/ Acquia.
- Observability: logs (CloudWatch).
- Experience supporting payment gateways and order/fulfillment flows in e-commerce.
Nice-to-Have
- Data tooling: basic SQL analytics for operational reporting.
- Office tools: having some knowledge on creating documents in Word or Excel.
- Scripting: Bash, PHP CLI for tooling/automation.
Soft Skills
- Calm, structured communicator under pressure; clear incident comms to technical & non-technical audiences.
- Availability through working hours. For an R&S Engineer a person will need to be always available during working hours and have backup during outages.
- Ownership mindset, bias for action, and a knack for simplifying complex systems.
- Strong collaboration across Delivery and QA teams
