40Summary:
The Lead Pharmacy Technician will assist pharmacy management via regulatory/compliance leadership, training support, competencies, recordkeeping, etc. Serves as department safety liaison. This position assures that pharmacy services comply with policies and procedures of the pharmacy department and state/federal regulations. The Lead Technician should be familiar with all stages of medication use (i.e., purchasing, storage, borrowing/loaning, charging/crediting, dispensing, returns, administration, and disposal) and regulations. Must be competent in general pharmacy operations, IV room, pharmacy automation, narcotic processing and reporting, EPIC processing, records retention & filing, and data analytics/reports. The Lead Technician – Compliance executes competencies for sterile preparation areas, so leadership and embodiment of high standards in the IV room are a must. Must have excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – and be a self-motivated learner.
Education & Experience:
High School or Equivalent required.
TCT completion is required.
A minimum of 1 year in CCMC Central pharmacy and gained knowledge in advanced areas.
Knowledge of math, the metric system, pharmaceutical chemistry, and medical terminology is essential.
Knowledge of computers and demonstrable skills with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) OR enrolled in ACPE accredited school of pharmacy.
Texas State Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration OR Texas Pharmacy Intern License.
ACPE IV certification required.
