The Pharmacy Operations Associate supports the daily operations of the pharmacy by assisting with medication dispensing, prescription processing, inventory management, and patient service under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The role ensures accurate order fulfilment, maintains inventory integrity, supports regulatory compliance, and delivers a high standard of customer care while contributing to the efficient operation of the pharmacy.
- Receive, process, and accurately dispense medication orders under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Review prescriptions for completeness and escalate clinical queries or concerns to the supervising pharmacist before dispensing.
- Communicate with patients through phone calls, messaging platforms, and in-person interactions to confirm orders, provide basic medication information, and address service-related inquiries.
- Update and maintain accurate patient records, prescription details, and order status within the pharmacy management system.
- Assist with inventory management by conducting stock counts, monitoring stock levels, reporting low inventory, and supporting reordering processes.
- Ensure medications are stored, handled, and managed in accordance with regulatory requirements, including cold chain and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant dispensing area in line with pharmacy operational and quality standards.
- Monitor and promptly escalate adverse drug reactions, medication incidents, or patient concerns to the supervising pharmacist.
- Support compliance with pharmacy policies, health and safety regulations, and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure efficient workflow, timely order fulfilment, and excellent patient service.
- Perform other pharmacy operations and administrative duties as assigned.
