Job Summary:
The Pharmacy Data Analyst II is responsible for creating complex data requests, reports, and visualizations as well as preparing written reports and presentations for senior management to summarize the data analyzed.
Essential Functions:
- Creates complex data requests, reports, and visualizations
- Prepares written reports and oral presentations for senior management that summarizes the data analyzed, interprets the findings, and provides conclusions and recommendations
- Creates key performance indicators (KPIs) that allow us to monitor data trends to proactively identify issues and evaluate the performance of programs and solutions
- Works cross-functionally with multiple departments on collaborative projects
- Demonstrates proficiency using internal and business partner portals and reporting capabilities
- Assists with training lower level Data Analysts
- Develops supporting documentation for queries and reports
- Perform any other job duties as requested
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent years of relevant work experience required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, or Statistics preferred
- Minimum of four (4) years of total experience in pharmacy or medical data analysis required
- Minimum of one (1) year of advanced proficiency in SQL and/or SAS required
- Experience extracting data from a data warehouse required
- Previous Managed Care Pharmacy, health plan or managed care experience preferred
- Experience with predictive models preferred

- Ability to synthesize large amounts of data from multiple sources
- Ability to visually present and communicate data, analyses, and findings orally and in writing
- Time management skills - effectively, efficiently and accurately managing multiple tasks simultaneously under tight timelines in a self-directed manner within a fast-paced healthcare environment while communicating risks and issues to manager regularly
- Ability to think creatively and systemically
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel – able to create presentation-ready charts, graphs, and pivot tables
- Strong problem solving skills
- High level of curiosity and/or desire to be innovative/creative
- Working knowledge of descriptive statistical application and techniques preferred
- Familiarity with Medicare Stars & HEDIS quality metrics preferred
- Familiarity with Tableau Analytical Software, PowerBI, or other data visualization tools preferred
Working Conditions:
- General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Compensation Range:
$72,200.00 - $115,500.00CareSource takes into consideration a combination of a candidate’s education, training, and experience as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required for the role, and other external and internal data when establishing a salary level. In addition to base compensation, you may qualify for a bonus tied to company and individual performance.
