The
Pharmacist Assistant is responsible for supporting the Pharmacist in the
day-to-day operations of the retail pharmacy, ensuring a seamless and welcoming
experience for all patients. This role involves assisting with inventory
management—specifically organizing medications, wellness products, and
cosmetics—handling over-the-counter sales, and delivering excellent front-line
customer service. Operating under the direct supervision of the licensed
Pharmacist, the ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, great
communication skills, and a passion for community health and retail excellence.
- Assist the Pharmacist in receiving,
labeling, and organizing prescription medications and retail stock.
- Provide exceptional customer service,
greeting patients warmly and handling point-of-sale cash register operations.
- Manage shelves and product displays,
ensuring wellness products, cosmetics, and over-the-counter items are
well-stocked, clean, and properly priced.
- Monitor product expiration dates and
assist in regular inventory counts and restocking activities.
- Address basic customer inquiries
regarding retail and beauty products, escalating clinical questions directly to
the Pharmacist.
- Assist with digital/social media
activities to promote the pharmacy’s wellness and retail offerings where
required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized
pharmacy environment in compliance with health standards.
Requirements
- Pharmacy Technician certificate, diploma
in a health-related field, or relevant experience in a retail pharmacy setup.
- Prior experience working in a community
pharmacy or retail health setting is preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and
customer service skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with an
ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Sound knowledge of retail pharmacy
operations, wellness products, or cosmetics is a distinct advantage.
- Digital savvy with basic social media
literacy is an added advantage.
- Ability to work well within a team and
handle multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Proximity to the pharmacy location is
highly preferred.
Skills Required
