Westpark Springs is a mental health and addiction treatment center located at 6902 S Peek Road in Richmond, Texas. It offers both inpatient and outpatient services for adults, adolescents, and children dealing with psychiatric, substance use, or co-occurring disorders.

How you’ll contribute:
The Pharmacist collaborates with Pharmacy leadership to ensure safe, accurate, and compliant pharmaceutical services and medication management throughout the hospital. This role supports hospital‑wide performance improvement initiatives and serves as a clinical resource to Administration, Medical Staff, and interdisciplinary teams on matters related to quality, regulatory compliance, and risk management. The Pharmacist assists in coordinating and implementing pharmacy operations, supervises technical support staff, and contributes to clinical, quality, and educational programs. This position provides knowledgeable support to all departments and delivers pharmaceutical care to patients across the lifespan, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.
Accurately fills medication orders and verifies the work of staff prior to medication release.
Prioritizes workflow to ensure timely preparation of STAT, NOW, and other urgent orders.
Reviews patient profiles to ensure safe and appropriate drug therapy, preventing interactions, duplications, and avoidable adverse reactions.
Evaluates medication orders based on patient-specific factors including age, weight, renal function, disease state, labs, and other clinical data.
Provides drug information and supports staff education, patient consultation, and collaboration with Medical Staff and hospital teams.
Offers professional and technical guidance to pharmacy personnel.
Prepares unit-of-use doses when appropriate to enhance safety and efficiency.
Communicates workload status, operational concerns, and emerging issues promptly.
Demonstrates competency in serving pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient populations.
Processes medication orders efficiently while meeting established productivity standards.
Generates required reports, performs system backup procedures, and ensures completion of temperature and environmental monitoring logs.
Maintains up‑to‑date knowledge of new medications, therapies, and pharmaceutical advancements.
Provides on‑call pharmacy support after normal business hours and responds promptly to emergent situations, including medication-related emergencies, urgent physician or nursing requests, and critical drug procurement needs, ensuring continuity of safe, compliant, and effective pharmaceutical care.

Qualifications and requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from an accredited school required.
Licensed Pharmacist in the state in which the facility operates.
Two years of pharmacy experience preferred.
De-escalation certification is required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
