Summary of Position:
Sell Invisible Fence® Brand solutions, services and products. Meet or exceed sales targets with in-home and virtual sales presentations, promotional work and work to develop new business within assigned regions.
Responsibilities:
- Sell solutions, services and products that are offered and approved through the Invisible Fence® Brand network
- Be completely proficient with the Sales materials, products and processes to include seamless and flowing dialect with the customer
- Provide direction and support to in-store branch associates that can be utilized to enhance their sales ability
- Conduct in-home and virtual sales consultations and participate in home shows, utilizing available sales resources which may include Sales Presentation Guides both physical and electronic as the situation demands and negotiate contracts with customers
- Maintain a closing ratio on all system solutions and Average Contract Value for revenue per current company guidelines.
- Actively network with veterinarians and their offices and other influencer opportunities for referral generation on provided schedules
- Maintain relationships and favorable contacts with current and potential customers to include hand-written thank you messages and updates regarding upcoming events, products and services at least once per year
- Completes and turns into Regional Sales Manager ) all appropriate daily paperwork including the collection of customer payment, sales agreement contracts and daily activity sheets
- Completes monthly commission report by the agreed upon due dates
- Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager and Operations Manager to formalize training material topics and materials to help bolster sales based on observations and current business conditions
- Understand customer base, competition and market dynamics
- Exceed standard customer satisfaction levels by resolving customer issues by taking personal ownership of the situation and creating a win-win-win solution, return customer calls as soon as the message is received, champions timely follow-up service for the customer, solicits and receives customer referrals and endorsement letters, follows-up on free battery plans for customers to ensure they are awarded for applicable referrals and always delivers friendly and professional service to all customers
- Manage the vehicle maintenance schedules and keep equipment in good working condition to support market demands
- Meet and assess customers’ pets and determine their suitability for Invisible Fence® Brand solutions and report to customer and RGM or GM any potential issues
- Keep and monitor inventory levels as necessary assigned to Pet Consultant and keep all equipment in good working condition
- Other job duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in the sales field or related area
- Valid driver’s license, clear driving record and driving skills
- Outstanding verbal, written and listening communications skills, including the ability to communicate with all levels of management, staff and customers
- Must have ability to read and interpret documents such as training manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and sales/service contracts.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and time constraints and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists while maintaining a professional demeanor. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English and to be able to effectively communicate sales or training requirements with customer’s in an accurate manner.
- Technical abilities necessary to use cellular phones (all electronic devices) for training services and recording notes.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk on a regular basis. Pet Consultant may occasionally be required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl to provide training and technician services.
- Strong leadership and financial planning skills
- Solid strategic thinker who is self-motivated and can execute a plan
- Results oriented with a strong sense of ownership and high level of professionalism
- Work environment for Pet Consultant may include exposure to outside weather conditions; wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold or heat. Consultants will be required to spend time traveling in provided vehicle to customer’s homes and must interact with customer’s and their pets. There is a risk of injury from working with pets to include but not limited to bites, scratches, etc. Consultant must value the customer’s home and property by taking necessary precautions to ensure no damage is made to the property and that the homes/properties are not soiled during the consultation.
- Pet Consultant must maintain a valid driver’s license, utilize effective driving skills, follow all federal, state and local laws and report any incidents immediately to police, the IFB Safety Manager, the Regional Sales Manager and the Operations Manager. Additionally, at no time is company vehicles to be used for personal use.

Accountabilities:
- Following Invisible Fence® Brand and PetSafe Brands company policies, procedures, training manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, diagrams, schedule forms, instructions and sales/service contracts.
- Exceed standard customer satisfaction levels by resolving customer issues by taking personal ownership of the situation and creating a win-win-win solution, return customer calls as soon as the message is received, champions timely follow-up service for the customer, solicits and receives customer referrals and endorsement letters, follows-up on free battery plans for customers to ensure they are awarded for applicable referrals and always delivers friendly and professional service to all customers
- Annual certification for Perfect Start™ Plus pet training
- Submit customer reports and notes to the Regional Sales Manager, upsells and Google Reviews
- Report to the Regional Sales Manager or Operations Manager any vehicle maintenance issue that may require additional maintenance
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Regular and predictable attendance is required
Relationships:
- Reports directly to the Regional Sales Manager
- Holds strong relationships with IT, customer call center, trainers, other pet consultants, and operations within PetSafe Brands.
Hours:
- Must be available to service the customer and take appointments between the hours of 8a-6pm Monday - Saturday, with last appointment availability starting at 6pm on a rotating schedule, 5-day work week including weekends if your rotation shift falls on a weekend.
- Must be available to work 2-3 Saturdays per month (50% of Saturdays per month).
