Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description
The Scheduler, On-air Operations provides day-to-day scheduling support for the 24/7 On-air Operation.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule team members (including meal breaks, overtime, sick calls, etc.) per operational needs and employee availability
- Process employee time off requests by entering and reviewing time-off in scheduling system, managing vacation communication, and updating employee-specific time off records
- Collaborate with On-air Managers to identify operational needs based on personnel schedules, facility availability, training certification, live event scheduling, contingency plan scheduling, and to resolve urgent needs and conflicts
- Collaborate with other internal departments (Finance, HR, Facilities, etc.) to provide data related to employee scheduling
- Track and Approve hourly employee's timecard using TimeKeeper system
- Create new team schedules based on changing workplace requirements
- Secures accommodations for team members for severe weather situations
- Reviews schedules for potential conflicts and escalates as needed
- Develops and documents workflows and departmental SOPs
- Attend weekly live event meetings to prepare for scheduling needs
- Onboards new employees
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Associates degree in related field or equivalent professional experience required
- Minimum 2 years of administrative work experience in an office environment
Desired Skills:
- Prior experience in a scheduling function utilizing resource scheduling systems
- Prior experience working in a 24/7 broadcast operation
- Prior experience with employee time keeping system
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
- Strong computer skills required, especially Microsoft Office products including, Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint
- Ability to learn new software programs
- Proven administrative and organizational skills
- Strong client service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure, team-oriented environment, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to adapt in a constantly changing environment
- Demonstrates understanding of workplace policies, business practices
