Two female Personal Assistants are required to join a small PA team supporting a lady in the Coalville area.  

Role Requirements

You will be required to provide support based on a two week rolling rota. Preferred times are as follows however there is flexibility with this as family/current PAs are able to work around the right person for the role:

Morning 8.30am (1hr 45 mins) - One carer needed to provide support with:

  • getting out of bed
  • rotunda transfers
  • washing, dressing, and personal care
  • medication administration
  • meals and drinks (carers to be present to encourage to eat and drink)
  • toileting
  • light household tasks
  • companionship

Lunch 1pm (1 hr 30 mins) - One carer needed to provide support with:

  • using the commode
  • meals and drinks (carers to be present to encourage to eat and drink)
  • Carer to ask if she would like to go to bed for a rest until the tea care call, and if she does Carer to support with transfer on to the bed
  • light household tasks
  • companionship

Tea 5.30pm (1hr 15mins) - One carer needed to provide support with:

  • using the commode
  • preparing meal and drinks (carers to be present to encourage to eat and drink)
  • transfer off the bed, on to the arm chair if she has been resting on bed in the afternoon
  • light household tasks
  • companionship

Bedtime 9.30pm (30mins) - One carer needed to provide support with:

  • night time routine
  • transferring to bed
  • personal care 
  • prompting medication if required

Week One:
Morning - every morning except Wednesday
Lunch - every lunch except Wednesday
Tea - Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Bedtime - Wednesday and Saturday
Week Two:
Morning - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
Lunch - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
Tea - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday
Bedtime - Wednesday and Friday

Female carers are required due to personal care support being provided. 

The client has been diagnosed with:

  • Advanced Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and is short of breath when moving around
  • Hypertension
  • Joint pain
  • Previous fractures

They had a Cerebrovascular accident (CVA or Stroke) in 2009 and was diagnosed with vascular dementia in 2018 so sometimes is forgetful. They do not have any communication barriers but do require specific and direct instructions to be able to follow them. 

The client likes:

  • going out in nicer weather in her wheelchair to local cafes or shops
  • animals especially dogs but no longer has one
  • talking about her family
  • watching television
  • rock and roll and used to dance it with her husband

She also loves chocolate.
