Insight Investment is looking for a skilled and proactive Personal Assistant to join the Legal Team.
The Legal Team is split between our London and New York offices and is responsible for managing legal risk across the Insight enterprise.
Depending on the jurisdiction, specific responsibilities include: negotiating bespoke investment management agreements with our global client base, negotiating trading documentation with market counterparties, including International Swap and Derivative Association agreements, Global Master Repurchase Agreements and clearing agreements. The team is also responsible for the formation and management of collective investment schemes including UCITs, AIFs, and US registered and private funds. The team advises on private illiquid and esoteric structured credit transactions and transactions involving asset backed structures, mortgaged back securities and collateralised loan obligations.
In addition, the Legal Team advises on a wide range of general commercial legal issues and regulations including derivatives trading regulation, UK and EU securitisation regulation, UK company law, US Investment Advisers Act and ERISA and transaction specific considerations raised by public, and private or illiquid secured credit investments. It is also actively involved in the implementation of Insight’s strategic initiatives.
Where appropriate, Insight also uses external legal counsel to advise on specific matters.
Role Overview:
To provide high level administrative and secretarial support to the Senior Managing Lawyer, Funds, Managing Lawyer, Corporate and Commercials, Senior Lawyers and the wider Legal team.
Role Responsibilities:
•Extensive scheduling of meetings with inbox and diary management for the Senior Managing Lawyer, Funds and Managing Lawyer, Corporate and Commercials
•First point of contact for a range of external and internal contracts
•Work with PA team members within the group and other parts of the business; cover for other PA roles when required
•Travel arrangements and expenses and invoice processing
•Updating trackers accurately and timeously
•Reviewing and comparing documents
•Responsibility as legal engagement manager for onboarding of law firms and other vendor requirements
•Responsibility for the legal work allocations rota
•Providing assistance with key departmental projects
•Creating, amending and updating reports and spreadsheets
•Further tasks to ensure business needs are met
Experience Required:
•Extensive experience of working as a Personal Assistant in a fast paced, dynamic environment
•Strong, confident team player with excellent and effective communication skills and a willingness to collaborate
•Excellent organisational and time management skills, with a proven ability to multitask and prioritise, to meet deadlines and follow-up on outstanding items independently
•Willingness to adapt to Insight processes and ability to learn quickly
•Ability to work under pressure and with conflicting priorities
•Emotionally mature, able to remain calm, courteous and focussed whilst working under pressure, and respectful of the same needs of others
•Proactive and flexible approach with ability to prioritise
•Professional, reliable, honest and integrous
•Strong systems skills to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint
•Prior experience in financial services and/or a Legal environment is advantageous
