- Reviews and applies understanding of laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to upstream oil and gas operations
- Ensure the organization is compliant with legislation and regulations pertinent to upstream oil and gas operations
- Participates in assigned projects and initiatives, demonstrating initiative and enthusiasm for regulatory work
- Builds foundational knowledge of regulatory practices and the company’s structure and objectives
- Uses training and internal knowledge to analyze data and recommend basic regulatory solutions
- Schedules & completes projects under guidance, ensuring alignment with operational goals
- Collaborates with team members to seek guidance & strengthen communication skills
- Begins connecting operational & economic impact to regulatory process improvements
- Supports compliance across the company and regional initiatives
- Takes direction, asks clarifying questions, and prepares clear written & verbal analysis
- Begins to develop an understanding of the data needed to complete common permits (APDs, sundries, renewals, spud notifications), and assist with data entry
- Collaborates with outside departments to maintain and update regulatory information in relevant databases
- Monitors regulatory deadlines, including hearings and permit expirations
- Obtain all permits to ensure state and federal compliance as directed
- Provides instruction to operations teams on regulations and permitted activities

- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or related field required
- 1 year of experience in regulatory, compliance, or related legal field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
- Ability to analyze basic compliance data and assist in simple audits
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone

- Oil & Gas experience and knowledge of current Oil & Gas related laws and regulations
