ALL = all ages. - Reads operating room schedule, anticipates needs, and sets up for respective case.
- Facilitates room turnover for cases to follow, including cleaning and preparation of room, equipment, and anesthesia components.
- Sets up, inventories, and restocks anesthesia and specialty carts to ensure all items are readily available.
- Inventories, orders, and maintains departmental supply stock consistent with departmental demand.
- Assists in lifting, turning, positioning, and preparing patients for surgical procedure, using proper body mechanics.
- Transports blood or specimens to laboratory.
- Escorts patients and families throughout hospital.
- Maintains hallways and equipment room by adhering to fire codes and keeping them orderly and free of obstruction.
- Maintains supplies in holding areas and keeps area free of clutter.
- Checks portable oxygen tanks daily and replaces if necessary.
- Achieves 75% attendance at staff meetings if applicable.
- Supports Joint Commission readiness.
