Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the Perioperative Logistics Manager, in a team-centered environment ensures the surgical services have the necessary inventory to complete surgical procedures on the day of surgery while maintaining the fiscal integrity of the Perioperative Services Department.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Utilizes internal and external logistics the role is responsible for ensuring the right products are stocked in the appropriate place at the appropriate time to include restocking shelves, and case pick (i.e. pulling inventory for scheduled surgical cases) Maintains adequate stock levels of goods based on product demand and workflow through product orders/replenishments. Utilizes McKesson Supply Chain management to place and check on product orders both from the internal warehouse and direct vendor orders. Utilizes internal and external resources to investigate, problem-solve, and execute solutions to breakdowns in the supply chain to include; backorders, recalls, and stock-outs. As a front line member of the perioperative supply chain it is imperative for this role to provides SBAR level communication to superiors to assist in mitigating systems issues as they are identified. Monitors and balances supply transactions for correctness through weekly cycle counting of identified inventory segments. Overall maintenance of the supply chain is driven off the weekly cycle counts. Proper inventory valuation drives the inventory levels, prevents logistical breakdowns, and assist with all key functions of the supply chain position. Other duties as assigned.
