Job Description

Perioperative Clinical Nurse Educator

Permanent Part-Time Opportunity | 64 hrs per fortnight

 

 

Would you like to join our established Perioperative education team? We are looking for a dynamic, supportive nurse dedicated to providing education to ensure quality patient care across the floor.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating and delivering a comprehensive education plan that upholds the highest standards of patient care
  • Facilitating department-based training and clinical competency assessments
  • Playing an integral role in orientating and educating new staff and graduate nurses as part of the clinical team
  • Supporting staff to build confidence and competence across the perioperative environment, including DOSA, anaesthetics/PACU, scrub/scout, CCL, orderlies and PSA’s

To be successful in this role, you will be an organised and efficient professional with advanced skills in nursing assessment and highly developed clinical problem-solving skills. You will be a positive role model with a natural ability to mentor and support staff with an innovative approach to education delivery.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (desirable)
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in the perioperative environment
  • Training design and delivery experience (desirable)
  • Strong leadership skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A positive role model with a genuine commitment to quality care and exceptional customer service
  • Organised, efficient and professional, with highly developed clinical problem-solving and advanced nursing assessment skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • An innovative, flexible approach to education delivery

Desirable Criteria:

  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment - TAE40116
  • Post Graduate qualifications in Clinical Education (or working towards)

Remuneration: On offer for this role is a base hourly rate of $54.72 - $58.82 + superannuation, exclusive of penalties and allowances (*QLD RN/Midwife Level 2.1 2.4*)
