The Purpose:
The Performance & Reward Lead is responsible for shaping and leading AP+'s performance, reward and recognition strategy to drive a high-performing, engaged workforce. Combining strategic leadership with operational excellence, the role ensures remuneration, performance and payroll practices are equitable, competitive, commercially sound and aligned with AP+'s business strategy, governance and regulatory obligations. 

As AP+'s subject matter expert, the role leads the end-to-end performance and reward framework, including My Contribution, remuneration reviews, executive remuneration, benefits, recognition, remuneration governance, WGEA reporting, Board remuneration papers, people insights and payroll operations. Working closely with the Chief People & Culture Officer, senior leaders and key corporate functions, the role provides trusted advice, governance and data-driven insights that enable transparent, informed and sustainable workforce decisions across the organisation. 

Key Outcomes the Role Owns: 

  • Lead and evolve AP+'s performance and reward strategy, ensuring remuneration and recognition frameworks are fair, market competitive and aligned to business strategy.  
  • Oversee the end-to-end annual remuneration review, including remuneration modelling, governance, executive recommendations and Board reporting.  
  • Drive continuous improvement of AP+'s performance framework, ensuring meaningful performance conversations and a culture of accountability and growth.  
  • Provide trusted advice to executives and senior leaders on remuneration, performance, governance and complex workforce decisions.  
  • Lead payroll operations, ensuring accurate, compliant and efficient delivery while strengthening controls, governance and service excellence.  
  • Develop insightful people analytics and dashboards that inform strategic workforce, remuneration and performance decisions.  
  • Manage remuneration governance, regulatory reporting, salary benchmarking and external reporting requirements, including WGEA.  
  • Build strong partnerships across People & Culture, Finance, Risk, Legal and the broader business to influence enterprise-wide people outcomes. 

We're looking for a commercially minded Performance & Reward leader who combines strategic thinking with operational excellence and thrives partnering with executive stakeholders. 

You'll bring: 

  • Significant experience leading enterprise-wide Performance & Reward functions, including remuneration reviews, executive remuneration, incentive design, market benchmarking and remuneration governance.  
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with Executive Leadership Teams and preparing high-quality Board and Board Committee papers, providing trusted advice on remuneration, governance and workforce matters.  
  • Proven experience designing, implementing and embedding performance management and accountability frameworks that drive a high-performance culture.  
  • Strong knowledge of Australian remuneration practices, executive remuneration governance, performance management, employment legislation and regulatory obligations.  
  • Experience within a regulated industry, ideally financial services, with exposure to the Financial Accountability Regime (FAR) or similar accountability frameworks highly regarded.  
  • Strong analytical capability with experience in remuneration modelling, workforce analytics and translating data into meaningful insights that support strategic business decisions.  
  • Experience leading payroll, remuneration governance or related operational functions, ensuring strong controls, compliance and continuous improvement.  
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across Executive leadership, Boards and key corporate functions.  
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, Finance, Psychology or a related discipline.

Skills Required
