Job DescriptionWise is a global technology company, building the best way to move money around the world. We’re looking for a People Operations Senior Specialist to join our team in Sao Paulo. In this role, you will play a key part in promoting a seamless and customer-focused experience across the employee lifecycle, while supporting our people (we call them Wisers) to do what they do best at Wise, with a primary focus on the Brazil market, as well as new markets such as Mexico and Chile, and enable the Global People Operations’ vision to create fast, convenient and transparent Wiser support, powered by smart tech and human advice.
This is a unique opportunity to have a significant impact on Wise’s mission and assist business leads and teams in delivering a seamless Wiser experience throughout the entire ‘Wiser’ journey. You will also contribute to the broader Americas region.
Key Responsibilities:
Wiser Support & Operational Excellence
Ticketing & Escalation: Assist the POps Lead in promoting the ticketing desk, managing traffic in line with SLAs, and acting as an escalation point to resolve blockers.
Data-Driven Insights: Develop and monitor ticket/query data dashboards, analyzing trends to collaborate with People Services on continuous process improvement.
Region Ownership: Act as an HR Generalist for the scaling Brazil region, managing the end-to-end Wiser lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding. As well as supporting new markets end-to-end lifecycle processes.
Risk Mitigation & Compliance: Utilize a deep and immediate understanding of evolving local labor laws and regulations specific to Brazil and LatAm to maintain compliant operations.
Project Delivery: Secure the timely delivery of high-priority risk and compliance projects to mitigate legal and financial exposure.
Workday Championship: Serve as the team’s Workday champion to ensure data accuracy and optimal working practices across all lifecycle actions.
Compliance & Audit: Oversee and control audit requests to ensure operational compliance, providing recommendations to strengthen internal procedures.
Global Mobility: Act as a point of escalation for the "Mobile Wiser" initiative, resolving complex international remote working and relocation requests.
Payroll & Benefits: Support the Payroll team with necessary documentation for joiners and leavers, and oversee benefit administration in partnership with third parties.
Knowledge Management: Maintain transparent and easy-to-use content on Confluence and TimeWise workbooks to ensure information is accessible and updated.
Wider Team & Business Focus
Process Evolution: Drive People Operations evolution by leading local projects and contributing to global initiatives focused on automation and deflection.
Shared Services: Contribute to the development of shared services by identifying tasks that can be centralized.
Mentorship: Role-model team ways of working, providing mentorship and backup support to other team members.
Strategic Planning: Contribute to planning cycles by sharing ideas for improvements and cross-team initiatives.
Legal Compliance: Keep informed about local employment laws and working practices, updating policies as necessary to remain compliant.
A bit about you:
Strong HR Experience: experience in HR operations, preferably within a shared services environment or a fast-paced tech company.
Analytical Mindset: Passion for tech and data, with the ability to use analysis to understand Wiser needs and improve processes.
Growth & Resilience: A strong growth mindset with the resilience to thrive in a hyper-growth environment.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to handle confidential information professionally.
Adaptability: A solution-focused approach and a "can-do" attitude, willing to take on tasks beyond your formal job description to support team growth.
Bonus Points: Previous experience in Fintech or high-growth tech companies.

We expect new joiners in the office most days to build connections and learn from colleagues for their first six months. After that, most Wisers split their working week between the office and home, typically coming in at least 12 times a month.
