The Opportunity: People Operations Lead
Cashalo is a fintech platform extending credit and financial services to underserved Filipinos and it's part of the Tilt group. As HR & People Ops Manager, you'll own everything people-related for the Philippine entity: payroll, statutory compliance, benefits, the full employee lifecycle, and the operational seam between a global recruiting team and a smooth candidate experience on the ground.

This is a greenfield opportunity to build a People Ops function from scratch - one that scales through systems and automation, not headcount. The right person is deeply fluent in Philippine labor law, operationally rigorous, and genuinely energized by the challenge of making a global framework work in a local market.


How You'll Make an Impact
  • Own PH People Operations: Lead day-to-day HR for the Cashalo entity: payroll administration, statutory compliance (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG/HDMF, 13th month pay), and benefits programs for Philippines-based employees.

  • Run the full employee lifecycle: Manage onboarding through offboarding for PH-based staff in close coordination with a distributed global People team.

  • Own local hiring operations: Execute pre-employment requirements, offer letters, and onboarding readiness, the critical link between a global recruiting team and a candidate's first day.

  • Navigate employee relations with confidence: Apply the twin-notice rule, manage administrative hearings and termination proceedings, and represent the company in SENA, knowing when to escalate to counsel before situations compound.

  • Build scalable People Ops systems: Develop playbooks, leverage HRIS tooling, and embed AI into workflows: drafting policies, synthesizing employee feedback, researching regulatory changes so the function scales without scaling headcount.

  • Serve as the PH subject-matter expert: Flag early when global programs conflict with local labor law or cultural context, and translate company-wide frameworks into what actually works in the Philippines.

  • Develop the team: Manage and grow junior HR team members as the function matures.

  • 6–9 years of HR/People Ops experience with hands-on command of Philippine HR operations: SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG/HDMF, 13th month pay, and the full compliance landscape.

  • Deep working knowledge of the Philippine Labor Code: twin-notice rule, due process requirements, administrative hearings, and SENA proceedings.

  • Proven experience running local hiring operations: offer execution, pre-employment requirements, onboarding readiness in partnership with a centralized recruiting team.

  • Hands-on HRIS experience with a rigorous approach to data accuracy, and demonstrated use of AI tools to accelerate People Ops work.

  • Comfortable operating without a perfect playbook: you do the work yourself while building the systems others will follow.

  • Experience managing or developing junior HR team members.

Skills Required
