About this role:
As the People Operations Director, you will lead our People Operations function with a focus on employee relations, engagement, development, and the employee lifecycle. In this role, you’ll shape strategies and oversee initiatives that strengthen workplace culture, drive professional growth, and support the company’s scaling efforts. You will also be responsible for managing and mentoring a high-performing HR team to deliver exceptional service to our employees.
What will I be doing?
Leadership & Strategy
- Oversee the People Operations department, managing a team to ensure efficient delivery of people operations functions.
- Develop and implement strategic HR initiatives aligned with the company’s business goals.
- Foster a culture of innovation, inclusion, and continuous improvement across all people operations.
Employee Relations
- Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, providing guidance on workplace issues and conflict resolution.
- Mediate and resolve complex employee relations concerns with a focus on equity, consistency, and alignment with company values.
- Maintain and update policies to reflect changes in employment law and best practices in a GoCo-driven environment.
Employee Engagement
- Design and execute initiatives to measure and enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.
- Partner with leadership and social committees to plan and implement virtual team-building activities.
- Lead communication efforts to share engagement survey results and action plans transparently.
Employee Development
- Collaborate with managers to create growth plans tailored to individual and team needs.
- Implement training programs that enhance leadership skills, technical capabilities, and soft skills.
Employee Lifecycle Management
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring seamless transitions for employees.
- Oversee performance management cycles, including goal setting, feedback, and employee reviews.
- Monitor internal mobility and succession planning, supporting long-term organizational needs.
Necessary Skills:
- 8+ years of experience in HR, People Operations, or a related field, with at least 3 years managing an HR department and team.
- Experience overseeing HR functions in a company with 100–500 employees.
- Proficiency with GoCo or similar HR platforms.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices, particularly for remote teams.
- Demonstrated success in designing and executing employee engagement and development strategies.
- Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
