Position Summary
The People Operations & Benefits Administrator provides practical, high-quality administrative support to the HR, Benefits, and People Operations teams. This role helps keep shared inboxes, calendars, documentation, SharePoint resources, employee records, and team logistics organized and moving. The ideal candidate is service-oriented, detail-focused, discreet, and able to juggle competing priorities with good judgment and follow-through.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
HR & Benefits Support (Approximately 50%)
Monitor shared HR and Benefits inboxes; respond to routine questions and route more complex items to the appropriate team member.
Provide first-level support for employee questions about benefits, leave programs, employment documentation, policies, and HR processes.
Support employee communications related to benefits and People Team initiatives.
Maintain accurate employee records and electronic personnel files.
Assist with HR audits, reporting, and compliance-related administrative tasks.
Handle employee information and sensitive records with discretion and confidentiality.
People Operations Support (Approximately 50%)
Support onboarding, personnel changes, data entry, document management, and related People Operations workflows.
Maintain organized electronic file storage, retention, and SharePoint resources for the People Team.
Conduct data audits to help ensure employee records are accurate and complete.
Assist with employee and manager inquiries related to People Team systems and processes.
Coordinate travel arrangements, expense submissions, scheduling, and administrative logistics.
Support special projects and department initiatives as assigned.
Team Administration & Coordination
Manage calendars and coordinate meetings for People Team leaders, primarily HR/Benefits leadership as needed.
Schedule meetings, prepare materials, and support event logistics.
Take meeting notes and track follow-up items.
Maintain and organize HR and People Team SharePoint sites and resources.
Provide general administrative support to the HR, Benefits, and People Operations teams.
Qualifications, Competencies & Strengths
Education: Associate degree or higher preferred.
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in administrative support, human resources, benefits support, or a related field preferred.
Special Skills:
Excellent customer service, communication, and follow-through.
Strong organization, attention to detail, and time management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal daily supervision.
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, and SharePoint.
Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
Sound judgment and demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
Additional Requirements
Must be able to pass required background and fingerprint screenings.
Frequent computer, phone, and video conferencing use expected.
Requires sitting, standing, reaching, bending, and repetitive hand movements.
May occasionally lift or move materials weighing up to 15 pounds.
Occasional local travel may be required.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.
Travel required: May need to travel locally for training and professional development opportunities.
