The Role

About Us

Red Cell Partners is an incubation firm building and investing in rapidly scalable technology-led companies that are bringing revolutionary advancements to market in three distinct practice areas: healthcare, cyber, and national security. United by a shared sense of duty and deep belief in the power of innovation, Red Cell is developing powerful tools and solutions to address our Nation’s most pressing problems.

About Andesite:

After decades defending the nation's most sensitive networks, we founded Andesite with a clear mission: to build security products that transform how humans and AI collaborate to defend against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.

We’re a diverse team of cyber and security experts, passionate technologists, and experienced product builders. We come from some of the largest national security, tech, cybersecurity, and data organizations on the planet.

We've raised more than $38 million from investors like General Catalyst and Red Cell Partners.

The future of cybersecurity isn't about better technology alone—it's about reimagining how humans and machines work together. Come build with us.

The Role:

We are looking for a seasoned early-stage startup professional as our dedicated People Lead hire to help lay the foundation for systems, culture, and processes that support our team as we scale and grow. The People Lead will have an immediate impact in shaping our company culture, driving employee engagement, and fostering a high-performance work environment, ensuring that we continue to attract, develop, and retain top-of-market talent.

This role spans the entire employee lifecycle (starting with onboarding), with opportunities to shape policy, drive engagement, and evolve into a leadership role as Andesite scales.

What You’ll Do (not all at once):

  • People Operations: Manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle beginning at onboarding - HR operations processes, offboarding, and compliance. Oversee daily workflow, including payroll, HRIS/Insperity administration, and records management. Manage and improve people systems and external HR vendors to support a scalable People infrastructure
  • Employee Engagement: Build and scale foundational talent management practices. Serve as a point of contact for HR-related employee questions. Support and help resolve employee relations issues as they arise. Coach employees and managers through difficult conversations.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Manage our benefits program, including annual reporting, running open enrollment, and supporting employees. Partner with the Senior Leadership Team to shape compensation and benefits strategies that support attraction and retention.
  • Culture: Assist in designing and implementing practices, policies, and plans that will enhance the company's culture and promote our Operating Principles. Support the company’s Management Advisory Group to ensure it thrives as a venue for employees to propose initiatives and shape the culture.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas to automate and leverage technology to scale. Improve operational efficiencies and data-driven decisions by implementing systems for streamlined HR administration and workforce analytics.

What You Have:

  • 5+ years of progressive HR/People Ops experience, ideally at high-growth startups (Seed to Series B)
  • Proven success as a strategic partner to leadership, aligning people strategies and execution with organizational objectives
  • Strong experience with HRIS platforms, including payroll, HR, compliance, and benefits workflows
  • Operational expertise, proven track record of process improvement, documentation and systems integrations
  • Comfortable operating in a remote-first environment, with a history of building trust across distributed teams
  • Impressively strong analytical, organizational and facilitation skills
  • Proven experience managing a diverse group of team members including W2 employees, contractors, and freelancers
  • Forward-thinking tech savviness with experience with tools such as Google Workspace, Pave, Greenhouse, HRIS software, Slack and more. Hands-on experience with various compliance tools that ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to evolving needs of a high-growth company
  • Incredibly trustworthy with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

Even Better If You Have:

  • Experience at a cybersecurity or defense tech startup
  • Experience with international employment, including managing contractors or utilizing an Employer of Record (EOR) service
  • Experience building foundational programs like career leveling, compensation frameworks, and manager training
  • Experience leveraging people analytics to provide strategic insights to leadership.

What We Offer:

  • Top-of-market competitive salary, bonus, and equity package
  • 100% employer paid, comprehensive health insurance including medical, dental, and vision for you and your family
  • Unlimited PTO, with your manager’s approval
  • Flexible work environment where you manage your work day
  • A remote-first environment, with occasional travel to collaborate with customers, your team, and teammates from across the company in person
  • Home office reimbursement
  • 14 weeks of fully-paid parental leave

Salary range: $110,000-$140,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience, skills, and other factors.
